Preparing for more surgery… barbie butt incoming!
I like to be absolutely honest as possible with my blogs and updates and this one is no different. I am very apprehensive about my upcoming barbie butt surgery. I have millions of questions running through my head one minute and the next I’m in denial it’s even happening…
Ok, back to the start – in 2021 I had surgery to create my stoma, I knew at this point my stoma was permanent and my surgery would come in two parts. This next part was always going to be around 3-4 years later, however I’ve found myself needing this 2 years post surgery due to my rectum flaring and loosing lots of blood/mucus on a daily basis.
The instagram community has been absolutely fantastic with answering my questions; and it makes me feel very lucky to be in a position where I can find out about so many other people’s experiences.
Lots of the questions I have asked have been around my recovery, and I think this is the part I am struggling to process. After being so well for a couple of years, thinking of going into hospital, daily pain management and doing nothing whilst recovering feel’s difficult. I am trying to prepare myself as much as possible, with writing lists/packing items but I think the most important thing I need to do is be patient with myself.
This is the next step of my journey and soon I’ll be able to share my tips to help others overcome this. ♥️
